What is a cork floor? And production process introduction

Cork flooring is called “consumption on the pyramidal tip of the floor”. Compared with solid wood flooring, it is more environmentally friendly, soundproof, and has a better moisture-proof effect, giving people an excellent foot feel. Cork flooring can be divided into paste-type cork flooring and lock-type cork flooring. Cork flooring can be made of different trees with different colors and different patterns, for example, the home logo on the NBA court is different.

Cork grows mainly on the Mediterranean coast and the cork oak oak tree in the Qinling region of China at the same latitude. The raw material of cork products is the bark of the cork oak oak. Bark can be picked once), which is more environmentally friendly than solid wood flooring (the whole process from the collection of raw materials to the production of finished products), sound insulation, and moisture resistance will be better, giving people an excellent foot feel . Cork flooring is soft, quiet, comfortable, and wear-resistant. It can provide great cushioning for accidental falls of the elderly and children. Its unique sound insulation and insulation properties are also very suitable for bedrooms, conference rooms, libraries, Recording studios and other places.

Production Process

There are two main types of softwood floor production processes:

1. Continuous pavement process similar to medium density fiberboard. Due to the large scale of the equipment, the annual output is between 5,000,000 ㎡ and 10,000,000 ㎡, and the distribution of Chinese suppository resources is not concentrated, so this process is not suitable for China.

2. Block pressing, thermosetting and cutting process, suitable for scale of 200,000 ~ 600,000㎡ / year.

The main production equipment of cork flooring:

The main production equipment of cork flooring are: crushing and granulating equipment, glue making equipment, cork wood block forming equipment, cutting equipment, sanding equipment, floor forming processing equipment, shrink packaging equipment, etc.

Important links in the production process of cork flooring:

1. The key to obtaining pure cork pellets is to use suitable crushing equipment. A negative pressure system is used in the wind power transmission and particle selection system to purify the operating environment.

2. Have non-toxic, strong, elastic, liquid-resistant and durable adhesives suitable for cork.

3. The thermosetting must be perfect. Depends on the appropriate temperature and time.

4. The forming equipment should be selected, and the profiling equipment should be used as much as possible.

5. The surface coating should have high strength, high elasticity, chemical stability and no pollution.

6.Domestic cork flooring should be bleached before painting to keep the natural color of the floor unchanged.

7. When painting unbleached cork flooring, iron should be avoided.

8. The thermosetting should be fully improved to ensure product quality.

Floor maintenance

More and more families use cork flooring in decoration, but how to maintain the cork flooring has always been a headache for netizens. The following five tips will help you easily maintain the cork flooring.

After three or five years of use, if there is abrasion in individual areas, use local compensation to reapply the coating on the local area. The method is very simple. Sand the abrasive area with sandpaper to remove dirt on the surface, and then gently use a dry soft cloth. Wipe clean, recoat, or apply polyester film to the area.

The maintenance of the painted cork flooring is the same as that of solid wood flooring. It can be done by waxing the floor once every six months. Cork flooring with abrasion-resistant resin on the surface is as easy to care as laminate flooring.

Prevent thermal damage. Do not place hot items such as hot water cups directly on the floor to avoid damaging the surface paint film. At the same time, avoid direct sunlight on the floor for a long time to prevent the paint film from cracking and aging prematurely after being exposed to ultraviolet rays for a long time. .

The furniture can only be placed on the floor 24 hours after the floor is installed, and the movement of people on it should be minimized within 24 hours. When you are away from home, please close the windows and doors, especially the faucets, to prevent rain and dripping from soaking the floor.

Cork flooring is easier to maintain than other wooden floors. During use, avoid bringing sand particles into the room, and some sand particles will bring in the floor, which will not wear the floor. After the sand is brought in, it is pressed into the elastic layer under the foot, and it will be ejected when the footsteps leave. It should be reminded here that it is not advisable to bring too many sand particles that are too dirty, which will still cause flow wear. The sand particles brought into the room should be removed in time. Generally, there is no need to equip with a vacuum cleaner, and there is no need to worry about warping and mildew caused by moisture.

It is recommended to place a cricket pad at the doorway to reduce the wear of the floor on the gravel. The furniture can only be placed on the floor 24 hours after the floor is installed, and people should be prevented from moving on it within 24 hours.

When maintaining the floor, do not rinse, polish or clean with detergent. The maintenance of the painted cork floor is the same as that of solid wood flooring. Generally, the floor wax is applied once every six months; usually, it only needs to be wiped with a mop or rag. Remove hard-to-clean areas with special cleaners. Avoid strong impact on the floor. When moving furniture, it is beneficial to lift it. Do not drag directly. Furniture legs need padding.

If it is used in a place with a large number of people, if there is abrasion in individual places after three or five years, it can be partially compensated, that is, the coating is reapplied locally. The method is very simple, and the abrasive site is lightly sanded with sandpaper. Remove the dirt on its surface, then wipe it gently with a dry soft cloth, re-apply the coating, or apply polyester film on the part.
