Tile paving is an important part of the entire home decoration project. However, due to the poor knowledge of tiles and the inability of the worker master to supervise the tiles, violations occur from time to time, resulting in some hidden hidden dangers of decoration. Life is inconvenient in the future, so it is necessary for everyone to know the basic common knowledge about tile paving.
1. Why do I have to leave a seam on the tile?
Tiles must be stitched when they are paved. Whether they are so-called seamless tiles or round-edged tiles, they must be stitched when they are paved! The main reasons are as follows.
Tiles have thermal expansion and contraction problems:
Both the ceramic tile and the cement mortar to which the tile is attached have thermal expansion and contraction problems. During the temperature or moderate change, there will be some expansion and contraction of the ceramic tile and the cement mortar. If there is no seam, it will cause the tile to appear in the later use. Bulging or cracking.
Tile error:
Although ceramic tiles are now produced by mechanization, there will be certain dimensional errors in the process of product production (too much error is a quality problem of the product). If there is no seam, it is easy to occur when the tiles are laid. The seams are uneven and affect the appearance of the tiles.
Construction workers have errors during construction:
Tile placement is a very skilled construction project. During the entire placement process, it is impossible for workers to completely complete each tile without error. Workers are in a bad mood, day and night, etc. The effect of tile laying in different situations will be different. If no seam is left, it is also difficult to ensure the straightness of the seam of the tile, and it does not matter how the tile is tiled!
2. When is the tile joint better?
The jointing of tiles is generally performed after the tiles are dried. If the tiles are not completely dried, then jointing is performed. The main problems are:
The first is to cause the unevenness of the tiles;
The second is to cause the tiles to loosen, so that the tiles are easy to fall off during later use. Generally speaking, the time for jointing is better when the tiles are applied for 24 hours.
When the tile is jointed, the owner must first clean up the dust and impurities in the joints of the tile, and then squeeze the jointing agent into the joints of the tile. Note that when filling, it must be full and squeezed. Clean the joint material of the brick surface!
3. Do I need to soak water before paving vitrified tiles?
Since the water absorption rate of vitrified brick is less than 0.5%, it is basically equivalent to not absorbing water, so there is no difference between soaking water and not soaking it! When paving vitrified tiles, do not need to soak water, directly paving!
4. What problems should be paid attention to when wet tiles are used for floor tiles?
To put it simply, wet tiles are used to apply cement mortar to the floor tiles and paste them directly on the ground leveling layer. In this case, there are two problems that require special attention:
The first is to pay attention to the flatness of the ground. If the flatness error is large, you need to level the ground;
Second, in order to increase the bonding strength, it is best to gouge the ground (in this case, you need to pay attention to the thickness of the floor and underground pipelines to prevent damage to the underground pipelines and floors) or to pull the ground to increase the tile and the ground. The contact area increases the firmness of tile paving. It is recommended to use a brushing treatment.
5. How to deal with the original floor tiles?
Generally speaking, the treatment method is to smash the original floor tiles. After smashing, the base layer (cement mortar and dry ash layer) of the original floor tiles need to be cleaned up, and then the tiles are repaved. can.
6. How to design a tile arrangement plan for living room floor tiles?
1. Entrance door: When designing a tile arrangement plan, use the center of the entrance door as the reference line and start arranging tiles to both sides.
2. Aisle: Based on the centerline of the aisle, start paving to both sides.
3.The length and width of the living room: the long side or wide side of the living room, the arrangement of tiles as a whole is better, if there is a situation where the whole piece forms a row, the width of the tiles of the whole row should be greater than the width of the tile More than half is appropriate.
7. Kitchen or bathroom first floor tiles or wall tiles?
It is possible to lay the wall tiles or the floor tiles first. Which of the two is to be carried out first, the key is to pay attention to two issues:
The first is whether it is conducive to protecting the pre-construction projects; the second is whether it is conducive to a reasonable installation and construction progress.
The practice of the decoration company or construction party is to generally lay the wall tiles first, then the floor tiles, and the floor tiles after the wall tiles are applied, which will not affect the wall tiles and not delay the construction period.
8. Can the kitchen and bathroom lay tiles directly on the original tiles?
If it is a wall tile, this is generally not recommended. The original wall surface is tiled, and its surface is relatively smooth. Directly paving the tile will cause insufficient tile adhesion and easily cause the tiles to loosen and fall off. The installed cabinets, Hardware, mirrors, and other items are easy to fall off and cause safety accidents.
If it is a floor tile, this can be done in two ways:
One is cement mortar paving;
The second is to directly use dedicated tile adhesives. The former has a relatively large impact on the space height, and the latter is relatively small. The issues to be considered when directly laying tiles on kitchen and floor tiles are: new tiles will increase the number of tiles. The height of the height increases how to coordinate with the pass stone.
9. Is it possible to not tile the closet on the balcony?
This approach is possible. During the construction, the primary treatment of the wall is mainly done, and the leveling treatment of the wall is done.
10. How does the connection between the tile and the floor go too far?
It is also common practice to choose floor tiles in the living room and wood flooring in the bedroom. The connection between the two is generally treated by adding metal clips, different-colored stones, and tiles!
